Regional Manager

Amanda Harvey-McKee is a regional manager for CHAMPS Oncology. In her role, she is responsible for ensuring clients' needs are met relating to data timeliness and completion, program management, as well as onboarding new clients and overseeing the client implementation process.

Harvey-McKee has years of experience supporting large, multi-hospital systems, specifically National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers. She has a broad understanding of pediatric cancer registries and the required research used to maintain the high-level acknowledgement of NCI designation.

Prior to becoming a certified tumor registrar (CTR), Harvey-McKee worked as a bio-medical research lab manager for over 10 years. Because of her background in research, she recognizes the connection and importance between investigations being done and clinical trials being offered. She understands the science behind many of the tests being offered and how it can affect patient decisions and care. This is particularly useful when she runs data requests for the researchers, physicians and cancer program administrators CHAMPS Oncology serves.

Harvey-McKee received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She is a member of the National Cancer Registrars Association and the Bi-State Tumor Registrars Association.

In Spring 2017, she authored the article "An Easier Way to Manage Casefinding" which was published in NCRA's Journal of Registry Management. She also presented "Take a Glimpse into Casefinding Audit Methodologies" with Laura Vondenhuevel at the NCRA 43rd Annual Educational Conference.

She has experience in:

  • Cancer registry functions to meet client needs and expectations
  • Communication
  • Customer service
  • Research required for NCI designation

Harvey-McKee’s speaking topics include:

  • How to organize and manage a large, multi-hospital system cancer program.
  • How to provide exceptional customer service.
  • The importance of connecting with members of your cancer committee.
  • The significance of the site-specific factors registrars collect for specific sites.
