Support Superstar Spotlight: Lori
Lori Blog

Introducing our first-ever Support Superstar Spotlight! In this series, CHAMPS Oncology will be highlighting registry support specialists in recognition of their tireless efforts to ensuring better data saves lives. This installment features Lori Webber.

Lori has been working in the cancer registry for two and a half years, arriving in the field after working in medical transcription for 22 years. She always felt a calling to the cancer registry, so she chose to make the career change.

“I decided to pursue a career in the cancer registry, which has always been an interest of mine,” Lori explained. “I love knowing that with every patient I come across I can make a positive impact in that individual’s care, whether that be in follow-up or casefinding.”

In her daily work, Lori is responsible for casefinding and follow-ups with her assigned client hospital. For Lori, her work is fulfilling and she loves contributing to positive outcomes in a patient’s care.

“I feel that my work makes an impact with every patient that I come across in either follow-up or casefinding,” Lori said. “I can make a difference and be a part of their care.”

A resident of Clio, Michigan, Lori enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Bill; daughter, Allie; son, Ethan; her dog, Gibby; and her grandcat, Milo. She also enjoys going for walks, baking and camping. One of her favorite places to visit is Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth, a resort-style restaurant that features a water park, golf course and shopping center all within the same location.

As for a bucket list item, Lori would like to travel to Hawaii for a vacation one day.

Each installment of CHAMP Oncology’s Support Superstar Spotlight features a registry support team member and recognizes their important work of ensuring better data saves lives. To learn more, follow #SupportSuperstar on social media. What’s your favorite part about working in the cancer registry?
