Did You Know? The 2021 ICD-O-3 update will include new terminology and reportability changes effective for cases diagnosed Jan. 1, 2021, and beyond. It’s time for our next installment of Support Super Star Spotlight! In this series, CHAMPS Oncology highlights our registry support specialists in recognition of their tireless efforts of ensuring better data saves lives. In this position, CHAMPS Oncology’s registry support specialists are responsible for casefinding and follow-ups with their assigned client hospitals. This installment features Jennifer Pols.

Fun Facts About Jennifer

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland.
  • Jennifer got her start in the cancer registry field four years ago. She decided to become a support specialist because she recognized the profession is based around work that benefits the greater good, so she took the chance and applied. She’s since been with CHAMPS Oncology for four years.
  • Jennifer resides in Northeast Ohio with her husband, children and pet dog.
  • The top item on the family’s bucket list is to travel for a vacation – no destination in particular, just desiring to see what the world has to offer.
  • Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks, working on DIY home projects and indulging in homemade soup and bread.
  • Her favorite book is “Agnes and Effie Mysteries” by Maia Chance and her favorite music group is the rock band MercyMe.
