Screen for Breast Cancer – In October and All Year Long
October is winding down, but I’m sure you still see signs of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, reminding you to regularly screen for breast cancer, whenever you leave the house. And before the month could officially come to a close, I took a moment to share my own thoughts on breast cancer screening:
As I mentioned in my message, there are many ways to screen for breast cancer and improve your chances of early detection. Take a look at the American Cancer Society's website to learn more. There is no reason to put off breast cancer screening tests when they can be so life changing.
Even though this October’s days are numbered, I encourage you to join me in encouraging others to screen for breast cancer all year long. Did you do something this month or earlier this year to spread breast cancer awareness? Leave a comment below to keep the conversation going.

In this episode, Dr. Serban Negoita, chief of the Data Quality, Analysis and Interpretation Branch at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Oguzhan Alagoz, Breast CISNET modeler from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Karen Schmidt, CTR, vice president of CHAMPS Oncology, will discuss what we can learn from this pandemic, the long term effects on survival rates and the implications on cancer statistics.
