Meet May’s Registry Rock Star: Rosie
Rosie May

Cancer Registry Fact: The National Cancer Registrars Association defines a cancer registrar as, a data information specialist that captures a complete history, diagnosis, treatment, and health status for every cancer patient in the U.S.

This month’s Registry Rock Star is Rosie, a cancer information specialist for CHAMPS Oncology.

Rosie has been working in the cancer registry profession for seven years. Being a cancer survivor herself, she wanted to do something in the medical field that would allow her to learn more about the disease. She also wanted to make a difference in whatever way she could. That is why she decided to become a CTR.

Rosie recently received the 2018 Pat Straight Award, which recognizes professionals who help facilities achieve the Jean Byers Award. Marte will receive a certificate of gratitude and appreciation for helping Nicklaus Children’s Hospital achieve exceptional quality from the Florida Cancer Data System.
