Importance of Data in Decision Making Stressed at ACE Annual Meeting
Importance of Data

The Association of Cancer Executive's (ACE) 22nd annual meeting, held in Rancho Mirage, California, Jan. 27 to 30, was a wealth of information as it always is.

Two common threads heard throughout the conference were the importance of data in decision making and the importance of patient satisfaction within cancer programs.

The importance of data in decision making and the importance of patient satisfaction within cancer programs really go hand-in-hand. Accessing and analyzing cancer data can help administrators make planning and strategic decisions, as well as monitor trends in patient retention and satisfaction to identify where improvements should be implemented. Patients are also utilizing data more and more, and because they do have access to various types of information and data about hospitals and providers, patient expectations are higher.

It is imperative for cancer program leaders to understand these expectations, monitor their progress and effectively utilize interventions to improve care and satisfaction.

Does your cancer program understand the importance of data in decision making and how patient satisfaction ties in?
