CHAMPS Oncology Authors Article on Mentoring Best Practices in Summer NCRA Connection

Mentoring Best PracticesCHAMPS Oncology is pleased to reveal its featured article “Mentoring in the CTR Profession: Four Areas You Should Know” published in the summer NCRA Connection.

In the article focused on mentoring best practices, Toni Hare, RHIT, CTR, vice president for CHAMPS Oncology, stresses how mentoring can impact the cancer registry field by increasing job satisfaction and promoting a strong registry workforce.

“Our work is changing the care of cancer patients. It’s easy to be inspired by that and it’s easy to work harder if that’s why you’re working,” said Hare. “Making sure my mentees understand that is probably the most important lesson I can impart and the most meaningful way I can contribute to promoting the cancer registry profession.”

In the article, Hare explains how the best way to promote the CTR profession is by mentoring new registrars. She states, “Mentors can model the skills and behaviors that embody the successful and professional cancer registrar.”

Discover four areas of mentoring best practices in Hare’s article on page 12 of the NCRA Connection. Contact us to learn more about CTR mentoring best practices or to have one of CHAMPS Oncology’s CTRs present at your next community event, conference, training session or meeting.
