CHAMPS Oncology Reveals Article on Cancer Registry Awareness in the Fall NCRA Connection

Cancer Registry AwarenessCHAMPS Oncology is pleased to reveal its featured article “Cancer Registry Awareness Through Community Outreach: Five Tips” published in the fall NCRA Connection.

In the article focused on cancer registry awareness, Mary Marshall, CTR, cancer information specialist for CHAMPS Oncology, stresses the value and importance of spreading the word about the cancer registry profession through community involvement.

Marshall writes, “For years, I have been participating in community outreach programs as a speaker to do just that. As a guest speaker I have explained the role of the cancer registrar to hundreds of people, from those attending cancer support groups, to allied health professionals to health agencies.”

In the article, Marshall reminds readers that you don’t have to be a natural-born orator to go on the CTR speaking circuit.

She explains, “CTRs play a role in the fight against cancer and speaking about it helps to remind me of that while spreading the message to others.”

Discover five tips to make the most of your community outreach experience in Marshall’s cancer registry awareness article on page 15 of the NCRA Connection. Contact us to have one of CHAMPS Oncology’s CTRs present at your next community event, conference, training session or meeting.
