New Resource Available on the Commission on Cancer’s Homepage

On Jan. 20 the Commission on Cancer (CoC) launched a new resource available on the CoC Homepage. Visitors can read about the 2012 Cancer Program Standards, learn about the National Cancer Data Base Rapid Quality Reporting System, watch featured videos and link to related information from this new online resource.

Currently, the featured video on the Commission on Cancer’s Homepage is an interview with Dr. David P. Winchester who discusses the satisfaction in following patients who are long-term survivors of cancer, and the importance of a nationally accredited cancer program.

The Commission on Cancer is a consortium of 47 professional organizations that establish cancer care standards and monitor quality at hospitals that it accredits. In September 46 individuals were selected to be CoC-trained consultants nationwide, five of which currently serve on the CHAMPS Oncology management team.
